Teduki Expo at Gallery Alma Blou
On October 11th 2010 we opened the Teduki Expo at the Gallery Alma Blou in Landhuis Habaai. Most of the ladies who participated in the making of these Teduki's were present. We even had the pleasure of having 4 ladies (participants) from Bonaire visit us for this occasion.
It is a very colorful and informative exposition. I will post the schedule for the next locations as soon as I receive it from "'t Bietje".

TEDUKI NA KAMINDA
In celebration of Curaçao becoming an Autonomous Country within the Dutch Kingdom, a group of quilters ('t Bietje) organised an exposition called "Teduki na Kaminda".
Teduki is a Caribbean Quilt - made without batting or backing. This will be a traveling exposition. The first location is Galeria Alma Blou in Landhuis Habaai. You can visit from Oct. 12th - 18th. After this date the Teduki's will travel to different locations. These locations will be anounced in the local newspapers.
Approximately 40 ladies worked together on this project.
"Working together" this should be our moto to make our Country: Curaçao successful

10-10-10
This coming October 10th 2010 our country: Netherlands Antilles will be disolved. At this moment Netherlands Antilles consists of 5 Islands in the Caribbean: Curacao - Bonaire - St.Maarten - St. Eustatius and Saba. On 10-10-'10 this will not be anymore. Curacao will become an Autonomous Country within the Dutch Kingdom. Same goes for St. Maarten. Bonaire - St. Eustatius and Saba will remain together under The Netherlands.
Complicated YES - Mixed feelings YES - Why do I mention it on the Bernina Modes Blog - because it is a historical moment for us on the Island.
Let us work together to make this change a positive one for all.

Raw Edge Bull's Eye
A few weeks ago we had a class called: Raw Edge Bull's Eye.
The ladies who attended made beautifull combinations. Everyone wanted to make their quilt large enough to
cover a queen size bed.
On the 16th of October we have another (2 sessions) class. This class is already sold out. However, if you would also like to learn how to make this wonderful quilt, please contact us and we will schedule another class.
It's the perfect to get rid of all your stress.
